HISTORIA

Buenos Aires es la Capital mas Europea del Continente, en la que abundan los rincones amistosos, aptos para citas amorosas, refugio de soledades, para confesiones entre amigos, para una discusión política, una reunión de negocios o una clase de tango.

Ellos son los Cafés y Confiterías porteñas. Sin ellos seria inconcebible esta Ciudad, nostálgica, amistosa y por momentos tan mágica. Las confiterías y cafes, son una de sus principales características.

Privilegiado balcón fue y es, la  Confitería  IDEAL.

Nacida a solo dos años de los festejos del Centenario de la Independencia , emplazada a pocos metros de la avenida Corrientes y Suipacha, esquina porteña si las hay, la Confiterìa IDEAL ofrece, como pocos rincones de Buenos Aires, la oportunidad de mostrar los secretos de esta Ciudad.

Ni muy vieja ni muy moderna,  ese enorme espacio vibra sin alterar a sus mozos, la mayor parte con mas de 30 años de servicio en la casa. Estas canas que guardan tanta historia podrían mencionar a los cientos de famosos que se llegaron a sus salones. Visitantes como Maurice Chevalier, María Félix, Dolores del Río, Vittorio Gassman, Robert Duvall. En ella se filmaron películas como “Tango” de Saura o la versión de “Evita” con Maddona. Muchos Presidentes argentinos y funcionarios de todos los rangos, disfrutaron de el “copetín en la IDEAL”. Artistas, escritores, pintores y músicos de todas las épocas la visitaron.

Sus Vitreaux y sus arañas, sus paredes recubiertas de añejas maderas importadas y las opulentas escaleras de mármol, y su famosa "Pérgola", única en el mundo, evocan sin duda a París.

En el Piso Alto se escuchan compases de Tango. La escalera de mármol y el viejo ascensor, son el preludio de la llegada al primer piso, el Salón de Baile de la IDEAL. Allí se baila desde 1990. Eran tiempos de esplendor porteño, allá por 1912. Su fundador: Don Manuel Rosendo Fernández, emprendedor inmigrante español.

La " IDEAL" , nació como confitería de prestigio, con su decorado deco y su mezcla milagrosa de la más alta burguesía argentina con visitantes de todos los colores.

La Sala de Baile hoy es honrada por los mas afamados “milongueros” tanto porteños como de otros orígenes. Y también los mejores profesores de tango.

Buenos Aires, the most European city of the new continent is filled with friendly places, places for romantic dates, to sheltering the lonely, for confessions among friends, for arguments about politics, for business meetings or for a tango lesson.

Tose places are the city Cafés or Confiterías. Without these coffee houses the city would be inconceivable, nostalgic and sometimes magical. The coffee houses are one of its main characteristics.

One of the most privileged balconies was and still is the Confiteria IDEAL

Born only 2 years after the city celebrated the centennial of its independence, located a few meters from the avenida Corrientes and Suipacha, tipical corner if there was ever one, the Confiteria IDEAL offers like no other corner of Buenos Aires, the chance of showing the secrets of this town.

Not too old, not too modern, this huge space vibrates without bothering its waiters, most of them have more than 30 years serving at this house. Their white hair gather so much history, they could mention hundred of celebrities that made it to its ball rooms. Visitors such as Maurice Chavalier, Maria Felix, Dolores del Rio, Vittorio Gassman, Robert Duvall. Several movies where shot at the confiteria such as Saura's Tango or Madonna's “Evita”. Several Argentinean presidents and all rank functionaries enjoyed their “Copetin” (cocktails) at the IDEAL, Artists, writers, painters, and musicians from all eras visited it.

The vitreaux and lamps, the ancient imported wood that cover the walls and the opulent marble staircase and its famous and unique Pergola, evocates with not doubt Paris.

From the top floor the tango the sound of Tango is heard, The marble staircase and the old elevator are the prelude to the fist floor, the ball room at the IDEAL . The tango has been danced at 1990. Those were the days of the porteñal splendor, right around 1912. It's founder was Manuel Rosendo Fernandez, and Spanish immigrant and entrepreneur.

The IDEAL was born as a prestigious coffee house, its decoration was art deco and its visitors a mixed of the top of the argentine burgessy with visitors from all walks of life.

The ball room was honored by the most famous “milongueros”, local as well as international, and the best Tango teachers.
